The Bartow County seat, on the Etowah River at the foot of Pine Mountain.
True Hand Roofing added Bartow County to its service area on August 1, 2026. Cartersville is new ground for us and this page says so plainly.
We handle roof replacements, repairs, hands-on inspections, and commercial roofing, and we help owners document storm damage for insurance claims.
Cartersville is the seat of Bartow County — 23,187 residents at the 2020 census, across about 28.7 square miles, roughly 42 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta with five separate I-75 access points serving the city.
Two things about the place matter to a roof more than any of that. The first is relief. The Etowah River runs through a broad valley south of downtown, and the highest point inside the same city limits is the summit of Pine Mountain, at 1,562 feet. The city limits also reach as far as Allatoona Dam. That is a lot of variation for one municipality, and it means the wind and shade a roof actually lives with are a property question here, not a town question.
The second is jurisdiction. Cartersville runs its own building department, separate from Bartow County's, so the answer to "who inspects this" changes depending on whether the address is inside the city line. We check rather than guess.
We have not completed a roof inside Cartersville. That is the whole of it, and putting it in writing costs us something, which is rather the point.
Bartow County entered our service area on August 1, 2026 on the strength of a completed job in Adairsville, twenty minutes north on I-75, and of the work we have been doing for years one county over in Calhoun and Gordon County. Cartersville is the county seat, so it belongs in the footprint — but a county being in the footprint is not the same as a track record in its largest city, and a page that blurred the two would be selling you something we do not have.
If you want to see finished work before you hire anyone, ask. We will show you documented jobs from towns where we have them rather than describing hypothetical ones here.
Which elevation the house sits at. Valley floor near the Etowah and high ground toward Pine Mountain are separated by well over a thousand feet inside one city. Exposure follows the terrain, and so does the fastening schedule we would specify.
Lake Allatoona shoreline properties. Open water gives wind a long clean run at a roof edge. On a lakeside lot the drip edge, rake detail and first course of fasteners do more work than they do on a sheltered street.
Industrial low-slope alongside houses. With Shaw, Komatsu, Anheuser-Busch and Georgia Power all operating here, the building stock includes large membrane roofs. Those get a commercial scope of work, not a residential one dressed up.
Two authorities share this map. The City of Cartersville Building Department, at 10 N Public Square, reviews plans and issues permits inside the city limits, taking applications through the city's online portal. Bartow County's Building Inspections Division, at the Frank Moore Administration & Judicial Center, 135 West Cherokee Avenue, covers unincorporated Bartow and administers the 2024 IRC with Georgia amendments. Which one applies depends on the address, and whether a permit is required at all depends on the scope — both are theirs to determine. We confirm before we start and we document the finished work.
