Roofing Services in Gordon County, GA

Seven signed roofs across the county: five in Calhoun, one in Plainville, and one in Ranger. Calhoun also carries the deepest job-site photography record of any community that did not previously have a page on this site.

That is the reason Gordon County appears in our stated service area at all. The work was here and consistent before we said so publicly, rather than the other way round — and where the count is small, this page says the small number.

Access stops being the constraint. The gravel switchbacks, the nowhere-to-stage-a-dumpster problem, the truck that cannot get close — those largely disappear in the valley. Jobs run faster and cleaner, and that shows up in the price.

Two roof types share one corridor. Residential steep-slope and commercial low-slope sit side by side along I-75 and US-41 through Calhoun. They fail differently, and they should be inspected and quoted differently.

Gordon County is unusually clear about this, and it is worth knowing before you start. The Gordon County Building Inspection Department, at 201 North Wall Street in Calhoun, states that it covers the unincorporated areas of the county as well as the cities of Plainville, Ranger and Resaca. The City of Calhoun operates its own building inspection department for work inside the city limits.

Whether a given job needs a permit at all depends on its scope, and that determination belongs to the authority rather than to a contractor's assumption. We confirm which office applies before starting and document the finished work.

• ADDRESS DISCREPANCY — NOW RESOLVED. This page flagged that calhoun-ga.md and plainville-ga.md carried a different street number for Gordon County Building Inspections than the county’s own page, which prints “201 North Wall Street”. Re-fetched 2026-08-02 from https://www.gordoncountyga.gov/227/Building-Inspection, whose contact block reads “201 North Wall Street Calhoun, GA 30701, Phone: 706-629-3795”. The superseded number is a real Gordon County address but belongs to Community Development, a DIFFERENT office — the two live pages were attributing one department’s address to another, citing a URL that does not say it. The wrong value is deliberately NOT repeated here: these comments render into the served HTML. Both pages have now been corrected to 201 North Wall Street. Flagging a discrepancy and leaving it live was the wrong call: those pages were already published and sending people to the wrong counter the entire time.
• FAIRMOUNT PERMITTING IS NOT STATED HERE. Fairmount is an incorporated city and is NOT among the three the county page names, but no Fairmount building department page was fetched, so this page makes no claim about who issues its permits. Absence from the county’s list is not evidence of a city department.
